Arthritis, an inflammation of the joints is a serious health disorder that affects tons of people every year. Arthritis is difficult to detect. Therefore, diagnosis and treatment of this disease requires a hands-on approach that not only helps to detect the disorder at an early stage but also able to cure it properly. To determine whether one is suffering from arthritis or not, an arthritis test is performed using blood samples. This is because blood test method is quick and safe as well as holds several microscopic clues to what is happening throughout out the body.

Arthritis diagnosis tests and Treatment

The major blood tests used to detect early stage arthritis are-

Antinuclear antibody (ANA) - It is found in the blood and determines the presence of polymyositis, scleroderma, mixed connective tissue disease and Rheumatoid arthritis.

Rheumatoid Factor (RF) - Rheumatoid arthritis blood test is done to detect and measure the level of an antibody that acts against gamma globulin, a component present in the blood. If the test result is positive, one is likely to suffer from Rheumatoid arthritis.

Anti-Cyclic citrullinated peptide (Anti-CCP) - This test indicates the presence of a particular antibody that causes Rheumatoid arthritis.

Uric acid test- Measuring the level of uric acid in the blood helps the doctor to diagnose gout. Gout is a condition that occurs when there is an excess amount of uric acid deposition in the joints and other tissues. This causes inflammation and severe pain in the muscles and joints.
